Green tea is widely used as a natural preservative in food and cosmetics. It even looks fresh and healthy! Green helps overweight people shed excess fat without side effects. This tea has a very "ocean-y" flavor. Almost like seaweed. It does create an almost vegetable soup sort of thing, that may not be for everybody, so be aware before purchasing. I've lived in Japan, and this is a good example of a traditional Japanese green tea. I give it only 4 stars instead of 5, because it is more expensive than other greens, and will not be everybody's cup of tea, due to the sea flavor. and to anybody curious, it is not like matcha.—Rhobi
Gyokuro has probably been my favorite tea up until I discovered 88th Night, which I have to say I enjoy just as much. I am a big fan of umami flavor and this tea provides a lot of it. Some describe it as grassy, I would disagree. It's more vegetal and brothy with slight roasted flavor. When drank first thing in the morning before a heavy meal, I can really appreciate the delicate, yet full body this tea has to offer as well as the elevated mood it tends to promote in me. Cheers!—Bill
Purchased as a sample. Awesome aroma as I bring the cup to my mouth, not sure what the aroma reminds me of, but it definitely brings good vibes, however, the weak taste is a let down. Next brewing I will use maybe a little over a teaspoon for my 5 oz cup.—Flip
The hay is a nice touch. It's subtle yet different. If I owned A Bed and Breakfast in the Midwestern part of the country, I'd have a never-ending supply of this. —Baroness Blossom
This is my favorite Tea Spot tea. It has a divine aroma and fresh flavor that makes me feel like the tea was just hand-picked for me.—Dr. P
This tea has a very earthy and almost grassy flavor. I really enjoy it! The actual tea leaves are absolutely beautiful to see and feel.—Steph
Wonderful tea, full of umami. I will order again.—Sail
Mild, yet full-flavored green tea. Drink it and be transported to zen. Love it!—SamuraiTeaLover
Brews to a lovely light green. Exceptionally smooth and balanced. Complex and sweet. "Flavor notes" in the company description are perfectly on point. This sips cleanly and is redolent of fresh earth, richly cured hay, and the promise of fair weather come morning. It makes me want to sing, this is SO good!—Sophie
I love this rich tasting green tea. A little grassy, a little smoky.—Sail
This green tea taste superb, it is of very high quality. Yes it's a little pricey, but you pay for what you get. I add a small tin on my regular orders and use it as a treat once in a while. If it was a little less expensive I'd drink 3 cups of this every day. But this makes me appreciate this great tea even more. —Greg
Full bodied floral Japanese tea. Super high quality. Delicious!—Lisa
I'm not a fan of green tea as a stand alone. this tea has a strong grassy flavor, which does blend well. i blend it with Monkey-Picked White. Or with my many soft black teas for a rustic touch. it is worth having in your collection. Greg—vrtx
My husband drinks at least 3 cups of green tea a day and this is his favorite by far! It smells and tastes like fresh cut grass and has a wonderful dark green color in the cup. Love it!!!—Farmer Jen
omg, this is my new go-to morning tea. I can't get enough! I love how thick and brothy it gets, and the sweet aftertaste that lingers. I've been resteeping the same leaves 2-3 times and it holds up like a champ.—Holly
