Our collection of global tea represents all the traditional tea producing nations with their signature varieties. Over the past 4000 years, the tea plant spread to each of these nations, where it took on a unique form and flavor due to the regional terroir, namely the local soil quality, humidity, altitude, and temperature. Each region also developed specialized methods of processing the tea leaf to obtain a particular taste and form. Shaped by the traditions of their culture, local tea masters are still developing and perfecting regional tea around the world. Explore our collection!
Caffeine naturally occurs in the tea plant, causing all traditional teas to have a naturally occurring amount level of caffeine. Chemical processes can be used to extract most of the caffeine from tea leaves, however we do not carry these processed decaf teas. We do, however, have a variety of herbal teas that are naturally 100% caffeine free. On the other hand, other traditional teas are naturally highly caffeinated. These create a sustained buzz that won't result in the familiar unwanted "crash" that often follows coffee.
These rich burgundy leaves from India's Nilgiri Mountains steep into a bright amber liquor, with a well-rounded body that floats on your palate with hints of ripe summer blackberries. This Fair Trade Certified black tea from the Iyerpadi Estate is low in tannins, thus low in astringency, and makes a wonderful fresh iced tea.
Black Tea is known to banish fatigue, stimulate mental powers, and raise energy levels. It has been shown to reduce stress hormone levels and acts as a nerve sedative, frequently relieving headaches. Black tea contains a number of vitamins considered essential for maintaining health, including Carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, has antioxidant and protective properties, Vitamin B1 and Panothenic Acid, Vitamin C and Vitamin B6.
Black Tea also contains antioxidants which may help to protect your body from the ravages of aging and environmental effects. Because they are allowed to ferment completely before drying, most black teas are especially rich in those polyphenols which have been shown to be effective against dementia in aging as well as AIDS related dementia. These compounds penetrate the blood brain barrier and have also been found to reduce blood cholesterol levels.
Black tea is known for its antiviral and antibacterial properties. It can be topically applied to cuts, bruises and burns, and is famous for its sunburn relief and has been shown to have a positive effect on preventing tooth decay and gum disease.

Author: Alexandra My favorite of the four new organic teas from the TeaSpot. It's a classic black tea with tons of character. Love this new black label line!
Author: Alison Knapp I read about this tea on a blog and bought it, without a doubt, it's the best-tasting organic tea you'll ever try. Drink it every morning, with milk.
Author: Diane Nilgiri Blue Mountain is a perfect black tea, great for anytime of the day. It's just a little more expensive than Lipton, and definitely worth it for the quality! Organic and Fairly-traded to boot…
Author: Karl A nice, smooth brew... if this is any indication of the quality of the Tea Spot’s teas, I look forward to more.
Author: Bill Buchanan I like this tea - I do - but... it's just an everyday, plain tea, much like Lipton. In fact I see no discernible difference to justify paying even a little more. No, a quality, loose-leaf tea should be markedly better than a grocery store bagged tea, so I marked this one down as three stars.
Author: Marlena Amalfitano Smooth, delicious, really a very good tea, one of my favorites
Author: Brigette Sumeraj Great in the morning with steamed milk and honey. If you don't have a steamer, just pour some 2% milk in a covered jar. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Then heat in microwave just until foam starts to rise. Pour this in your tea, add honey....mmmmm!
Author: Joseph C Rogers Rogers I like this tea, it is a bit light bodied but does brew up nicely. I was looking for a richer bodied tea so will try something else on my next order.
