  • Black Tea is known to banish fatigue, stimulate mental powers, and raise energy levels. It has been shown to reduce stress hormone levels and acts as a nerve sedative, frequently relieving headaches. Black tea contains a number of vitamins considered essential for maintaining health, including Carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, has antioxidant and protective properties, Vitamin B1 and Panothenic Acid, Vitamin C and Vitamin B6.

Black Tea also contains antioxidants which may help to protect your body from the ravages of aging and environmental effects. Because they are allowed to ferment completely before drying, most black teas are especially rich in those polyphenols which have been shown to be effective against dementia in aging as well as AIDS related dementia. These compounds penetrate the blood brain barrier and have also been found to reduce blood cholesterol levels.

Black tea is known for its antiviral and antibacterial properties. It can be topically applied to cuts, bruises and burns, and is famous for its sunburn relief and has been shown to have a positive effect on preventing tooth decay and gum disease.

Oh my gosh - I had no idea orange pekoe could taste like this! A new favorite for sure.—Dina
One of the best Kenilworth teas I've tried. —Irena
Very smooth, classy tea. I love tea but have a sensitive stomach and can get 'acid-y' with store-bought teas. This is perfect: smooth, tasty and delicious. I buy this very frequently. —BarbBat
This Sri Lanka Ceylon tea is a pure delight to wake up in the morning. I was desperately looking for a decent black tea for years! None of the other Ceylon leaves I've tried (the Republic of Tea, Twinnings Breakfast or Rishi Ceylon...) would satisfy my palate. I finally found my dream Ceylon tea at the Tea Spot 8 years ago: a refreshing, mildly strong and lightly astringent black tea with generous leaves. My recipe to optimize its fullness and strength together with keeping it refreshing and light is super easy: I use a big 6"ceramic soup bowl where I drop a level tsp of Ceylon loose leaves with 1/8 of a tsp of graded organic lemon. I pour 2 and 1/2 cups of boiling water (freshly filtered water please!) in my bowl and let it steep for 4 min. I do not remove the leaves since they magically stay in the bottom of my bowl !!!! Why such a bowl: you need to hydrate your body in the morning, the tea cools down faster, it keeps the leaves in the bottom and save me a lot of time in the morning. Enjoy!!!!—Edwige
I bought this tea thinking it would be similiar to the regular teabags such as Lipton. It isn't exactly the same, but I found that I really liked it a lot. When I have time to brew a pot I usually go to this because it's a little stronger than the teabags I usually buy.—Bebe
This is my daily morning cup and it is delightful and delicious! Not too strong, not too mild, just clean, smooth taste every time. I love the packaging you provide. The samples that come along are always something new to offer guests.—Mrs H
This is my favorite tea to use as a base to make my Southern iced sweet tea. Very aromatic and smooth, almost sparkling. It also tends to brew clear iced tea instead of cloudy iced tea, for people who care about that. —Jen
I love black tea with milk and honey, and this tea is powerful enough to stand up to both! Its also great to mix with some of the stronger flavored teas if I want to mellow them out (for example, Earl Grey, or the Love Potion No. 9). Absolutely amazing!—Mel
I'm not a fan of Ceylon tea in general. I tried this in the sampler pack I bought earlier. While better than other Ceylon teas I have had it is still not one I am a fan of. If you are like me and prefer the true boldness of Assam, Pu'erh and Lapsang Souchong avoid this.—Jennifer Baldwin
My Ceylon tea arrived yesterday and I had 2 cups this a.m. I wanted to let you know how delicious it is. I’ve found it hard to find tasty and aromatic Ceylon tea, and am glad to know you are stocking it.—Gail
Be careful not to steep this tea too long as the bitterness can set in early. But when done perfectly (boiling water, 2.5 minutes, in my opinion), this Ceylon pronounces its bold, fresh characteristics.—Victor
