Sri Lankan Tea

Sri Lanka started growing tea in 1867 to subsidize the British demand for tea. At the time, the country was called Ceylon, thus the lingering name of Ceylon Tea. They traditionally produced black tea, using the Assam varietal tea plant, similar to that of southern India tea. Our collection includes exceptional black teas from this region, a traditional straight ceylon black tea as well as blends that incorporate ceylon teas.
