  • Black Tea is known to banish fatigue, stimulate mental powers, and raise energy levels. It has been shown to reduce stress hormone levels and acts as a nerve sedative, frequently relieving headaches. Black tea contains a number of vitamins considered essential for maintaining health, including Carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, has antioxidant and protective properties, Vitamin B1 and Panothenic Acid, Vitamin C and Vitamin B6.

Black Tea also contains antioxidants which may help to protect your body from the ravages of aging and environmental effects. Because they are allowed to ferment completely before drying, most black teas are especially rich in those polyphenols which have been shown to be effective against dementia in aging as well as AIDS related dementia. These compounds penetrate the blood brain barrier and have also been found to reduce blood cholesterol levels.

Black tea is known for its antiviral and antibacterial properties. It can be topically applied to cuts, bruises and burns, and is famous for its sunburn relief and has been shown to have a positive effect on preventing tooth decay and gum disease.

This is my favorite of all time. It is great hot or cold.—Tea Lover
I was excited when I got this tea in my monthly shipment. I planned on drinking it cold since that is what other reviews said. It was still just okay. I made green tea in the afternoon and I did pour in some of this tea to give a different flavor (not too much). It was interesting and that is how I will use the rest of the tea up but I won't be re-ordering.—DKN
This is a tea that I have a love/hate relationship with; the aromas from the the leaves just get me excited, but have so little chocolaty pay off. I know I'm not looking for a hot chocolate type of flavor, but I need to find a better way to bring out this flavor that I know I smell. Perhaps trying it cold like some others have said would solve my problem. Otherwise, it has a nice round black tea flavor, and is good for breakfast pick me up. —Highs and Lows
I was not too impressed with this tea the first time I had To me, this is nothing like hot it is a disappointment to have it warm. But is unique and has grown on me. I like to brew it strong in the Swirl mug and then pour it over a large container of ice to take to work in the morning. It's the perfect substitute for coffee, which I have given up. —Janice
From the heady chocolate aroma released each time I open the tin, to the scrumptious taste, this tea is a definite favorite. I like it best when prepared with slightly cooled boiling water, 1 level teaspoon leaves, and 5-minute steep. Bonus … adding the spent leaves to my compost bin. —Kara
Very rich and strong chocolate flavor but the tea tasted coffee like and I am not a coffee person.—Helen M
Chocolate is the word that really best describes this tea. It has a rich chocolate flavor with a touch of malt. With just a bit of sweetener it easily eclipses hot chocolate. I would much rather brew up a cup of this any day. Of all the Chocolate teas offered by the Spot right now I prefer Cherry Bomb but this is a delicious Chocolate tea for the purists. It is absolutely wonderful to brew a fresh cup of this before going out in the cold or to warm up from being IN the cold.—Umbreona
I had my doubts about this tea, but I have to say it is simply amazing! It tastes just like hot cocoa with none of the fat and guilt.—Valerie B
To me, this tea has a slight malty flavor and reminds me of Ovaltine (which I love). It is great sweetened and with milk or just plain. It is great hot or iced. I love it! I'll be buying mor of this tea.—Cay
This tea is good, but not as good as Boulder Breakfast. It is nice with a bit of milk and stevia. I have not yet tried it iced, but would imagine it would be a good afternoon pick me up.—Amy
I am totally addicted to Chocolate "O'. Best tea I have ever tasted. Thanks for the Earth Day 25% off. Order 2 pounds!—KAREN THAMES
    amazing iced!—Adele M
This tea was good but as a chocolate lover I was expecting a sweeter more chocolate taste. Overall I was disappointed and glad I only ordered the sample size. For a sweet tea choice I'm going to stick with the creme caramel.—Debbie F
