Our collection of global tea represents all the traditional tea producing nations with their signature varieties. Over the past 4000 years, the tea plant spread to each of these nations, where it took on a unique form and flavor due to the regional terroir, namely the local soil quality, humidity, altitude, and temperature. Each region also developed specialized methods of processing the tea leaf to obtain a particular taste and form. Shaped by the traditions of their culture, local tea masters are still developing and perfecting regional tea around the world. Explore our collection!
Caffeine naturally occurs in the tea plant, causing all traditional teas to have a naturally occurring amount level of caffeine. Chemical processes can be used to extract most of the caffeine from tea leaves, however we do not carry these processed decaf teas. We do, however, have a variety of herbal teas that are naturally 100% caffeine free. On the other hand, other traditional teas are naturally highly caffeinated. These create a sustained buzz that won't result in the familiar unwanted "crash" that often follows coffee.

Yerba mate: Yerba Maté is often consumed as a stimulant drink. It helps to eliminate fatigue, stimulating metal and physical activity, and due to its active chemical Xanthine’s effect on the central nervous system, it is used to stimulate mental energy as well. [Saldana MD, Zetzl C, Mohamed RS, Brunner G. Extraction of methylxanthines from guarana seeds, mate leaves, and cocoa beans using supercritical carbon dioxide and ethanol. J Agric Food Chem. 2002 Aug 14; 50(17): 4820-6.]
Black, green, and white teas: Tea leaves, especially green and white, are rich in catechin polyphenols. An article in New Scientist (20 March 2004 issue) magazine mentions that numerous studies suggest that green tea protects against a range of cancers, including lung, prostate and breast cancer. The reason cited is the antioxidant epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful antioxidant. Besides inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, it has been shown to affect these cells without harming healthy tissue.
Pu’erh tea: Drinking pu-erh tea is purported to reduce blood cholesterol. This belief has been backed up by scientific studies not only demonstrating experimental results of lowered LDL cholesterol in rats, but discovering specific mechanisms through which chemicals in Pu-erh tea inhibit the synthesis of cholesterol. [ Chi-Hua Lua, Lucy Sun Hwang "Polyphenol contents of Pu-Erh teas and their abilities to inhibit cholesterol biosynthesis in Hep G2 cell line", Food Chemistry, Vol. 111, No. 1, (Nov. 1, 2008), pp. 67-71.] Pu-erh tea has been shown to have antimutagenic and antimicrobial properties as well. [She-Ching Wu, Gow-Chin Yen, Bor-Sen Wang, Chih-Kwang Chiu, Wen-Jye Yen, Lee-Wen Chang, Pin-Der Duh, "Antimutagenic and antimicrobial activities of pu-erh tea", LWT - Food Science and Technology, Vol. 40, No. 3, (Apr. 2007), pp. 506-512.] It is also widely used in Chinese cultures to counteract the unpleasant effects of heavy alcohol consumption. In traditional Chinese medicine, the tea is used to invigorate the spleen.
Eleutherococcus senticosus (Siberian Ginseng): E. senticosus is an adaptogen that has a wide range of health benefits attributed to its use. Taking the herb is believed to boost the body’s capacity to handle physical stresses ranging from heat exposure to extreme exertion. Supporters of E. senticosus as a medicinal herb also claim that it is immunogenic, anti-inflammatory and chemoprotective. [Winston, David & Maimes, Steven. “Adaptogens: Herbs for Strength, Stamina, and Stress Relief,” Healing Arts Press, 2007 and Chen JK, Chen TT. Chinese Medical Herbology and Pharmacology, Art of Medicine Press, City of Industry, CA 2004]. It's also thought to be an aphrodisiac and boost stamina in traditional Chinese medicine.

Author: Lauren F :) This is probably my favorite black tea of all time. It has a biting, but complex flavor and is sure to perk you up on even the slowest days! It is such an interesting mix of tastes that it can be suitable on almost any day for any mood (except quiet, fruity moods). Highly recommended!
Author: Alreen Haeggquist I’m addicted to the Climber’s High blend. I love the way it tastes, smells and makes me feel. I couldn’t start my morning without a cup or two.
Author: Carole H. Yerba mate is not one of my favorites, but I tried this tea anyway based on the chocolate chip in the photo. My error. By itself, this tea was a disappointment. However, I blended it half and half with Bolder Breakfast, which produced a wonderful tea! A touch of cream to satisfy the English side of me and WOW! I'm a happy camper!
Author: Sarah Incredible mix. I don't normally like licorice, but with the blend of teas and ginger and cinnamon, it creates a perfect spicy flavor. It's a real pick me up!
Author: Cay It would be worth the price if all you did was smell it. But don't stop there....Taste it! Hot, cold, beforw work, after work, this is one of my fave teas.
Author: Erin Waaay too spicy! Doesn't even taste like tea. If it was more subtle, I could have stomached it, but it has too much ginger and licorice. I still can't get the stink out of my brewer - may have to throw it away. Bummer.
Author: Nicole My entire experience with the company has been fabulous. Before they shipped my order a very nice lady called to confirm my order as my address wasn't recognized. I received my order promptly. The tea itself has wonderful quality. It is flavorful, unique, and excellent. The Climber's High has a nice complex mix of flavors and spices. I also ordered the Boulder Blues which is a nice refreshing tea with all the benefits green tea has to offer. I was sent a sample of the oolong coconut which had a light tasty flavor and satisfied my sweet tooth. I enjoy supporting local companies and this is one I will continue to order from in the future and can't wait to try all their teas.
