Dragonwell Green Tea

Pan-Fired & Classic

Tasting Notes:

This is an authentic Chinese West Lake Dragonwell and considered to be one of the world's finest green teas. Its narrow and flat leaves produce a soothing aroma when brewed. Lung Ching tastes delicate and rich, and has a slight hint of chestnut flavor. The leaves are picked and hand processed in early spring when the mountains are still shrouded in mist. They have a thin, delicate appearance with a golden sheen and give a pale green infusion that's lightly sweet and tremendously fragrant.

  • Green tea is rich in powerful antioxidants, and has been known to fight viruses and slow aging. Green tea aids in weight loss, reduces "bad" cholesterol, boosts the immune system, and is also associated with the prevention of cancer. Green tea is widely used as a natural preservative in food and cosmetics. It even looks fresh and healthy! Green helps overweight people shed excess fat without side effects. It may help modulate calorie and fat burning through the sympathetic nervous system, the adrenal glands and specific nerve chemicals. Green tea shows fat-burning properties beyond those explained by its caffeine content.

Excellent green tea at a great price too. It tastes best when i make it in my cast-iron teapot. Brew it for only 2 minutes with water off the boil and you can use the same leaves 3 or 4 times!—Serena M.
A very solid green tea. Nice flavor and fragrance. —Andi
Genmaicha is my number 1, but this is a close second. I waffle back and forth between the two when deciding what to have. This is a very close second to my favorite. An excellent tea.—Adam
Of all the green teas, this is my absolute favorite. I love it both hot and cold-brewed, although I often opt for the latter. The soft color and smooth flavor, along with Its health benefits, keep bringing me back again and again. —Kara
I got this as a sample and fell in love! I will be ordering it again! Isnt overly grassy like a lot of green teas :)—Sierra
Delicate and fragrant, a lovely tea any time of day.—Sail
Very nice with chestnut and piney notes. Gives a deep, rounded, harmonious sipping experience. The umami is there but well balanced with subtle grass notes that quickly yield a mildly sweet honeysuckle finish. Drinking this tea gave me the impression of a framed picture with a clearly-defined edge around the whole. Second infusion lacks the frame and dimension within the frame but is still pleasant. Leaves are large torn pieces -- very attractive to brew. The brew itself is pale greenish gold.—Sophie
    I liked this one—very fragrant.—Julie
When I sip this aromatic tea it calms and soothes me. The hint of chestnut gives it just the right amount of flavor without overpowering the essence of the green. I see myself drinking this tea when I'm going to bed or meditating! —Randi
I loved the delicate flavors in this tea. I will be sure to purchase again.—Tracy
I love this tea when I want green, but not quite green. It's got a heavier, smokey overtone compared to most green teas, and it doesn't blend well thanks to its stronger flavor. I brew it with cooler water, just before a simmer, and only let it steep for more than a minute when I forget about it. Definitely can get 3-4 steeps out of this one.—Szwik
Man, I really like this tea. If you've been drinking stuff made with tea bags that you buy in the supermarket, you're in for a treat. This is a really good green tea, very smooth and consistent in its flavor, and it has become our favorite tea. It's not flowery or fruity, and it doesn't have any strong flavors, just a nice, well-balanced and light green tea that's good for cup after cup. This is the one I will always go to first. —Simon
i ordered a sample and to be honest did not care for it but I soon found out I craved the taste. It really is a great tea. Just ordered it in bulk. This is very good—Landscaper
One of my favorite green teas. Smooth as silk, with just a touch of nuttiness. The dry leaf is also very visually appealing. —Jen
I love this tea - its a great price, and has a super clean flavor. Personally, I like making it with hot (but not boiling) water. Green tea is loaded with antioxidants, so this makes a great detox or afternoon pick-me-up!—Mel
Looove this tea. On it's own it's really clean, but I never steep it longer than three minutes otherwise it tastes kind of grassy. I also love this for mixing with other teas. It helps smooth out and boost the flavor of the other tea. My favorite is combining Dragonwell with Thin Mint Green.—Kirstie Kurtenbach
Classic. This is what I think about when I drink green tea. I like this a bit stronger than previous raters. I steep for 4 minutes and only get one steeping out of it. Second steep is way to week for me. And I like it with one teaspoon of sweetner - I use TrueVia. Mmm.—Bill Buchanan
We love your tea! 'some of the best I've had. We love the light fragrant taste of it.—Gayle Baase
High quality green tea. I drink this every day. It is very smooth, and has a flavorful taste.—Robin Stanley
This is a good quality green tea. The leaves are really big and fresh. Beautiful pale green liquor.—Abby
Really nice, ig flat leaves. Great fresh colors. Steeps into a sweet and clean aroma. I like this better than the japanese green teas, it's a lot smoother and has more character. It's less intense, but more complex. Almost sense a tinge of chestnut in the flavor. Love it!—Kylie
I'm drinking a liter of fresh green tea every day, before and after my workouts. This one is really fresh and can make a full liter of iced tea with just one teaspoon of leaves brewed four times over.—Megan
