Our collection of global tea represents all the traditional tea producing nations with their signature varieties. Over the past 4000 years, the tea plant spread to each of these nations, where it took on a unique form and flavor due to the regional terroir, namely the local soil quality, humidity, altitude, and temperature. Each region also developed specialized methods of processing the tea leaf to obtain a particular taste and form. Shaped by the traditions of their culture, local tea masters are still developing and perfecting regional tea around the world. Explore our collection!
Caffeine naturally occurs in the tea plant, causing all traditional teas to have a naturally occurring amount level of caffeine. Chemical processes can be used to extract most of the caffeine from tea leaves, however we do not carry these processed decaf teas. We do, however, have a variety of herbal teas that are naturally 100% caffeine free. On the other hand, other traditional teas are naturally highly caffeinated. These create a sustained buzz that won't result in the familiar unwanted "crash" that often follows coffee.
The Dripless Teapot is our 20 oz porcelain teapot designed to steep both loose leaf tea and tea bags. It features a suction tight lid, a unique groove to securely hold tea bag tags, and a spout to prevent drips and spatters. Handcrafted by artisans in a socially and environmentally responsible manner, the Dripless Teapot is dishwasher safe and 100% lead & cadmium free.
For making loose leaf tea (and for stringless tea bags), insert the complementary Tuffy Tea Steeper (collapsed one level) and pour hot water over your tea leaves. When your tea is steeped and ready to serve, remove the Tuffy loose leaf infuser by placing it on its saucer, and replace the ceramic lid.
For tea bags, simply place the tea bag in the pot, insert the string into the notch so the tag hangs over the teapot rim, and replace the ceramic lid. Remove the tea bag when your tea is brewed, and enjoy...
On our site only, receive a FREETuffy Steeper with every Dripless Teapot purchase (color of your choice!). The Tuffy Steeper is our universal loose leaf infuser which also fits standard mugs, retailing for $8.95 on its own.
Author: Carole Blaney Very nice teapot; The dripless spout really is! I have also been very impressed with the customer support. They quickly resolved an issue with the steeper. As service is by far the most important thing for me with online shopping, I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks!
Author: Megan Swartz This pot is, indeed, dripless and pours very nicely. However the lid on mine is extremely hard to get off. I'm always afraid I'm going to spill hot tea everywhere when I need to remove a tea bag.
And I'm very glad they're now offering regular tuffysteepers with this pot, because the grey one pictured fell apart, because it was not as high of quality as other tuffysteepers.
In all, it's a nice looking pot that pours nicely, but it hasn't been easy for me to use.
Author: Lindsey Harbison This is a very nice teapot, however the lid fits to tightly, and upon first use the tiny, thin ceramic circle on the lid snapped and broke off when I tried to lift the lid up.
It is drip less though and that is a nice change, but a redesign is needed for the lid.
Author: David Shields I was give this teapot as a present, the seal on the lid is very tight and I am anticipating the lid ring to break.
Also the small vent at the handle which I assume is for a tea bag string allows scalding steam out to burn fingers or thumb when gripping the handle to pour tea...needs re- positioning.
Author: Andrew Johnson This is a fantastic teapot. I have used mine on a daily basis for about three years now (I leave it at work so I can make tea all day) and greatly appreciate the size of this pot. Not too big, but still large enough to serve a substantial amount of tea. This pot stays hot for a while giving me plenty of time to enjoy my tea. I like to prime the pot with hot water before steeping my tea and think this practice helps keep everything warmer for a bit longer. The lid is outfitted with a suction tight seal that prevents drip-age even when the pot is tilted at an extreme angle. While the lid fits the pot securely, it has never gotten stuck for me. A normal amount of upward pressure allows the lid to pop off when it’s time to clean. I’d much rather have a properly tight-fitting lid than a loose fit that would allow my lid to slide when pouring. This set was designed with function in mind! Love it, and highly recommend it
Author: Katrena I love the teapot, it's a very nice design and the fact that it's ceramic makes it even better.
As far as the ring breaking on the top, mine did, but not from quality issues: my husband put something heavy on top of it in the sink. Very easily fixed with super glue. I haven't had a problem getting the lid off (even though it does have a tight seal - which is good) because I'm just careful with it.
I'm not sure about a hole in the lid area, but all the steam from my tea comes out of the spout. Also, I only use it for brewing loose tea and not tea in a bag. When I steep my tea, I just set the lid on top instead of worrying abut getting the lid tight with the tuffy steeper in there. All in all, I'm very happy with my little teapot
