The Tea Spot is inspired by medical research suggesting the benefits of green and white teas in increasing the body’s immunity against the onset and recurrence of breast cancer. For this reason, the company has chosen its Snowflakes white tea, as it retains the highest concentrations of EGCG polyphenol antioxidants, which research shows may help prevent against breast cancer.
The urgency for public support for programs such as CFR becomes increasingly clear in light of the American Cancer Society’s most recent estimate that about 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in 2009 in the United States. For every Steep It Pink set purchased by The Tea Spot’s customers, a gift package valued at $26.94 will be sent to the women participating in CFR (see image). The Tea Spot is pleased to include its customers in its advocacy for inspirational cancer wellness organizations such as CFR, in hopes to increase public consciousness and support of breast cancer. So far this year, The Tea Spot has contributed over 700 tins of antioxidant-rich white tea and more than 100 Steeping Cups to help the charitable community fuel the continued wellness of cancer survivors.
