Tasting Notes:

This most elegant and sophisticated Japanese tea is the quintessential tea for a special occasion. The name translates to ‘jade dew’, describing the color of its infusion. Our gyokuro is grown in rich volcanic soil on the south eastern coast of Kyushu, an area known as a leader in organic farming practices. ‘Umami’ in taste and aroma, this smooth infusion will make you feel like you’re taking an exquisite plunge under the sea! Its finish is sweet and rich. The fine, needle-shaped leaves are a dark emerald green color due to being partially shade grown, which gives gyokuro a high chlorophyll content.

My search has ended for a green tea. It is so rich, and flavorful! —Henry, NYC
As someone who has spent a lot of time in Fukuoka prefecture and grown up sipping green tea, I was skeptical that a tiny Colorado company would have authentic Gyokuro (玉 露). I was sorely mistaken! The liquor smells of spring and faint sakura (桜), the color chlorophyll-rich, and the tongue feel smooth. Careful not to boil these or over steep, this tea is as delicate as it is delicious. This reminds me of my family overseas. Phenomenal.—Fumiko
Nice buttery mouthfeel, some staying power for up to 3 infusions. All around great Gyokuro!—Ben
