Tasting Notes:

Grown in Miyazaki prefecture located on the southern island of Kyushu, Japan, our Organic Matcha is a fine stone-ground green tea powder — fresh, inviting and delicately vegetal. When whisked it transforms into a refreshing bowl of ceremonial matcha, with a strong, noble aroma, and a sweet umami finish that leaves your mouth watering. A well-made serving of Matcha is textured with a frothy head like a perfect espresso with silky crema. It neither looks nor tastes like any other kind of tea. We invite you to be transformed by the quality, taste, and feeling you'll get from a daily cup.

  • Green tea is rich in powerful antioxidants, and has been known to fight viruses and slow aging. Green tea aids in weight loss, reduces "bad" cholesterol, boosts the immune system, and is also associated with the prevention of cancer. Green tea is widely used as a natural preservative in food and cosmetics. It even looks fresh and healthy! Green helps overweight people shed excess fat without side effects. It may help modulate calorie and fat burning through the sympathetic nervous system, the adrenal glands and specific nerve chemicals. Green tea shows fat-burning properties beyond those explained by its caffeine content.

For anyone who has not had Macha it is a powder you whisk directly in the cup you drink from. It is not astringent nor does it tend to have tannin in it. This means it is less bitter and offending than some teas can be. It also tends to give a bit more of a kick than other Green Teas but never reaching the level of Black Teas. This particular Macha is pleasant enough, whisks up well, and smells about right but it is nothing particularly special. It is a great introduction to Macha. Personally, I wish Tea Spot would get Sakura Macha and Powdered Sencha as those are absolutely delicious.—Umbreona
Drink this tea everyday! It's so easy to make and tastes great! Definitely worth it —Kalyn
So let me start off by saying I tend to be very sensitive about bitterness and aftertaste, which is why there is a very large list of beverages I can't stand drinking. This includes lower grade green tea. This matcha is not ceremony grade, which given the price is to be expected. I find this matcha had a very strong aftertaste that I associate with low quality green tea. Which is a shame, because the initial taste was wonderful. If you find you don't have issues drinking most green teas, you'll probably enjoy this matcha. —Mandy
I drink a cup of Matcha every morning with a drop of honey! This tea keeps me going all morning plus the taste is so earthy. I highly recommend this tea who anyone who is a fan of Green Tea!! Definitely worth every penny!—Brenda
This Matcha is smooth and pleasant tasting. So much better than the less expensive one and I like that it is organic.—Gloria
    love it —Iris
