Intriguing & Meditative

Product Rating:

100% Organic White Tea

Tasting Notes:

These pure white tea leaves from China steep into a light-yellow, smooth liquor and impart only the lightest buttery sweetness with a slight apricot fragrance. Legend has it that Buddhist monks trained monkeys to harvest the leaves from the top of wild tea trees. However, today the term Monkey-Picked refers to the highest quality tea.

  • Tea infused from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant is the world’s most popular beverage after water. The darker the tea, the more processing it has undergone, and the more processing, the more antioxidants are lost. White teas are made from buds and young leaves, which are steamed or fired, and then dried. The closest thing to fresh tea leaves, white tea retains the highest concentrations of catechin polyphenols, which research shows may help prevent cancer, lower blood cholesterol, and control high blood pressure.

Seriously great tea... I got my mother tea of the month club and teas blow my mind this one really stands out you can add a little to any tea and it'll just make it so much better —TicoTheGreat
This neutral tea must be kept on hand for mixing with jasmine petals for uplifting; detox teas for healing; Organic Green Sencha or Jade Tips for a mild boost yet healthy cleanse—Kindness
This is a pleasant, smooth little tea with notes of apricot blossom and fruit. Clean aftertaste, no astringency. Lacks the advertised intrigue, however; and yields up only a pallid second infusion which is why I could not rate this any higher than a 4.—Sophie
I tasted this twice; once when brewed for only 3 minutes and then again when brewed for 6 minutes. I loved the soft mouth feel of this tea and the flavor of sweet roses that intensified from white roses at the 3 minute mark to a more concentrated blush rose flavor at the 6 minute mark. If you are looking for a great introduction to white tea, this is the one.—Erica B.
it's organic, and delicious. Love the smooth taste of the tea.—IBS
This is a very subtle tea with a soft flavor, and easy to over brew. Though I am often adding my own flavoring to it (rosebuds, spearmint etc), it is a great drink to enjoy all day without worrying about how much caffeine you're ingesting. —iswimlikeafish
This tea is so simple, pure, and delicious.—Brenda
I drink a lot of white teas and this is one of the best ones I've ever had! I appreciate that it's organic. The tea is smooth and calming. I drink it throughout the day, but my favorite time is when my husband and I share a pot of this tea in the evening when we are relaxing. I highly recommend this tea.—Bobbi
This tea has a wonderful flavor and provides a boost in energy, without making me feel over caffeinated. Pairs well with clover honey.—JL
This tea is different for me. I am learning to like it. My daughter introduced me to it. I will continue to get it as the more I drink it the more I like it. It is difficult to cold brew though. So it looks like it will be one to steep then cool down next time. Well I will learn. —D McCraw
A “newbie” to loose teas, Monkey-Picked White is the very first one I tried. I love its subtlety, soft color and smoothness. Without milk or sugar is perfect for me, and I’m looking forward to my first attempt at cold brewing come warmer weather. —Kara
I am a huge fan of white teas, and this one is among the best unflavored varieties. The mix of leaves and downy tips makes it visually appealing as well as flavorful. It is great cold brewed and hot. Simply delicious.—Kyra
This has become one of my favorite teas. (And not because I can't help seeing a Planet of the Apes type scene each time I drink a cup!) White tea is basically green tea picked at a very young age, and it has a very delicate and subtle flavor. After years of being a total coffee addict (and I still have my coffee gold card), I now only drink coffee early in the day and tea later and in the evenings. And I am developing more of a palate as a result. Green teas have many of health benefits, and if you like a hot beverage late in the day or evening and not have it keep you awake all night, this is a good way to go. The white tea has a very nice, subtle flavor, and whether you drink it plain or sweeten it slightly with honey or sugar (only a little!), it makes for a very light and relaxing drink that you can really savor. —Simon
This tea is perfect for an afternoon pick up! A little sweet, I love it with a splash of milk.—LMN127
I really like drinking this one at night. The overtones of apricot are delightful, and I like how its not sweet.—Randi
Waiting for my order to arrive. I have been told the health benefits are more pronounced if brewed till it becomes bitter! Which I intend to do.—Sharon DeVereaux
Damn, I love my monkey pickin's... So smooth and creamy, drink all day off a small pile of 'em.—JT
Hands down the best white tea I've ever had. White teas are always subtle, and some are on the "boring" side, at least to me. But not this one! There's a mild sweetness here that I can't get enough of—Katie
One of my new favorite teas by TeaSpot! This is a beautiful white peony and similar to the base tea that TS uses in their Meditative Mind. Adjectives that apply here are soft... buttery... mildly sweet. I was able to get 4 good infusions out of the same leaf so this is a tea that you can drink all afternoon.—Dan Rogers
A tasty palate cleanser. It leaves my mouth feeling so fresh and so clean, with no aftertaste. yes, it's true, very soft & buttery, but at the same time cleansing. love it!—Trina B.
At first glance, it looks like I just placed a pile of leaves from my yard in my Steeping Cup but the hint of sweet aroma 'leaves' me believing otherwise...The liquor steeped resembles the color of honey and the taste leaves a buttery smooth feeling in my mouth...The other day, I re-steeped some of these tea leaves and made a tea-licious dinner, Coconut Curried Cod Infused with MONKEY-PICKED WHITE TEA served with Kale & Mushrooms sautéed in a sweet and spicy MONKEY-PICKED WHITE TEA-sauce...visit our blog, STEEP IT LOOSE, to check out the recipe...—Tea Spot Chef
A very smooth white tea base provides a light and lovely premise for the hints of peach and even citrus. Where this tea really shines is in its amazing ability to stand up to multiple infusions. I always get three Steeping cup’s worth.—Serena
I’ve tasted several White Teas, and this full leaf tea from TeaSpot is by far the freshest in flavor, with much more character than others I’ve had. The flavor of the white tea is a little difficult to describe, however it becomes more pronounced with each brewing. Be careful though, this tea turns bitter quickly if over-brewed! This is a wonderful spring and summer tea, and also brews up into a beautiful iced tea.—Alicia
Has no calories at all and is extremely light and refreshing. I am a bit partial to white tea because it is a lighter tasting tea, and I drink lots of it, mainly for the health benefits.—Lisa P.
This tea is light and soothing. The fragrance is soft. It smells clean like cool, spring rain.—Katie
There is no bitterness at all to this tea. It is full of flavors but takes time and patience to taste them. It leaves you feeling fresh and rejuvenated.—David
Super fresh, full leaves - So much so that you can brew them up to 5 times. I'd recommend only letting the leaves sit for 1 to 2 minutes for each brew, not 2 to 3 like it says in the instructions, but i like my tea really light! Does the trick and cuts my appetite really well!—Lacey
I didn't expect such a great flavor from a white tea, but maybe it's because it's organic and so fresh. This tea is amazing! It's my new afternoon splurge... and amen to cutting the hunger pangs.—Mary Quinn
This is the best White Tea I have ever tasted. Your Snow Flakes is VERY good but this is JUST slightly better yet. It is even sweeter and has even less body. It is 100% aftertaste and that aftertaste is sweet and refreshing with a wonderfully delicate flavor. If you have never had White Tea, drink this Tea, if you have had White Tea try this one because I bet it is better. I would highly recommend Chilling this into wonderful Iced Tea because it is so refreshing and blows any other iced tea so far out of the water they land in the desert. —Umbreona
Super-fresh, full leaves. I get 4-5 steepings from them. The flavor has good character too. It is sensitive to being overbrewed though..—Adrian V
