Our collection of global tea represents all the traditional tea producing nations with their signature varieties. Over the past 4000 years, the tea plant spread to each of these nations, where it took on a unique form and flavor due to the regional terroir, namely the local soil quality, humidity, altitude, and temperature. Each region also developed specialized methods of processing the tea leaf to obtain a particular taste and form. Caffeine naturally occurs in the tea plant, causing all traditional teas to have a naturally occurring amount level of caffeine. Chemical processes can be used to extract most of the caffeine from tea leaves, however we do not carry these processed decaf teas. We do, however, have a variety of herbal teas that are naturally 100% caffeine free. On the other hand, other traditional teas are naturally highly caffeinated. These ones create a sustained buzz that won't result in the familiar unwanted "crash" that often follows coffee.
This refreshing blend consists of peppermint and Hojicha, a roasted Japanese green tea. Its previous name "Green Roasted Mint" was quite literal in its description, however, we felt "Thin Mint Green" better captures the essence of this tea. There's no flavoring involved, but the peppermint leaves pull chocolate notes from the roasted tea, resulting in a taste and aroma reminiscent of those cookies that we all know and love. Hojicha is naturally lower in caffeine than other green teas, while peppermint aids with muscle relaxation and digestion. Together they create a warming, tawny taste that is relaxing when hot and refreshing when iced. This brews into a clean, amber liquor with an inviting smell. The roasted green tea creates a nutty base that is brightened by the vibrant peppermint leaves.

Author: Chris Brendel This is a good alternative to Boulder Blues for me, when I need something a little more piercing. The mint isn't too strong and isn't too weak. It's just right. It's a very aromatic tea and it feels very good in your mouth. The flavor might not be right for everyone, but if you like mint, I think I can guarantee you'll like this tea.

Author: Mike My current favorite Teaspot tea. Amazing iced tea. I Add honey. You can brew the same pot 3 times. The tin says 30-40 cups to a tin. I get over 100. I also like that you can't wreck this tea by brewing it too long (like the Boulder Blues that only tastes good if you follow the directions)

Author: Jyl I could not love this tea more. I just got this in the mail and brewed it right away. The roasted green gives it a bit of a nutty flavor and the peppermint does not overpower but truly brings out a bit of chocolate. Its a relaxing tea that I think I could drink all day long! I have about 50 loose teas now (that's a cry for help!) and this is in my top ten with Phoenix Jasmine being another favorite of mine.
Author: Laurie Oberg I adore this tea, but I think the new name is unfortunate. GS Thin Mints are the opposite of this tea; why would you want to evoke that image?
THIN MINT TEA-SMOKED SALMON
Layering the salmon on top of wood chips and our roasted green tea peppermint blend produces a smoky, nutty and refreshing flavor.
Prep Time: 20-25 minutes
Cook Time: 10-12 minutes
Yields: 4 servings
Ingredients: Tea-Sonings
Mix the following ingredients and divide (1/2 for Salmon & 1/2 for drizzle)
1 TBS THIN MINT GREEN TEA, finely ground
1 TBS Cilantro
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Ingredients: Salmon
4 filets, 1/2 - 3/4 lb per filet
1 TBS olive oil
2 TBS THIN MINT GREEN
1/2 of reserved Tea-sonings (about 2 TBS)
2 cups wood chips (alder or cedar), soaked for 15 minutes
Aluminum foil, heavy
Preparation
1. Combine all Tea-sonings ingredients in a small bowl. Divide Tea-sonings in
1/2 (reserve 1/2 to sprinkle on top of salmon & 1/2 for drizzle). Pat dry
salmon with paper towels. Brush salmon with olive oil and sprinkle with 1/2
of tea-sonings.
2. Cut out four rectangles of aluminum foil, crimp edges until each tray
measure 7 X 5 inches. Cut small slits in bottom of trays. Put 1/2 cup soaked
wood chips and 1/2 TBS THIN MINT GREEN tea in each tray. Place salmon
skin-side down on top of tea and wood chips.
3. Turn all burners on high and heat grill with lid on down until very hot,
about 15 minutes. Scrape grate clean with grill brush.
4. Place foil trays with salmon over fire, cover and grill until center of
fillet is opaque, about 10 minutes.
5. Meanwhile, whisk, Dijon and vinegar and gradually add the oil.
6. Season with reserved Tea-sonings to make drizzle.
7. Remove trays from grill. Slide metal spatula between skin and flesh.
Transfer to platter and drizzle with olive oil Tea-sonings.
