Disappointed

I loved the organic matcha that I received with the matcha set I purchased here. I decided to buy this matcha because of all the good reviews and was disappointed that it just wasn't as good. It wouldn't froth and the taste is definitely not as good. Maybe it would be okay in a latte or for other cooking but not by itself. I'd reorder the organic but not this.

Hello Pat! Thank you for taking the time to review our Japanese Matcha! It sounds like you've already chosen a favorite, but if you're looking for the best flavor, we recommend trying our Ceremonial Matcha!

Great Matcha

I have been purchasing Matcha powder from different companies for 6 years. I have now found my favorite. It is the best tasting. I use a small (2 inch) fine woven strainer and use a bamboo spoon to push the powder through the strainer into the bowl to break up any lumps and then add the water to froth with a bamboo whisk. I make my Matcha with 1/2 teaspoon powder, 1/3 cup lukewarm whole milk, 2/3 cup water at 170 degrees and 1/2 - 3/4 teaspoon honey. I drink this as my breakfast drink almost every morning. Other Matcha powder that I have tried has had a bitter after taste. This is smooth and a great balance of flavor.

Okay, there is better

I like the flavor of this matcha, it's very good. I couldn't get over the fact that it didn't blend nearly as well as the organic matcha and was chunky :( Unfortunately, no one likes chunks and residue. Go with the organic!!

Matcha

Though I did not find that this matcha foamed well and was slightly gritty, the flavor was okay. It is less expensive then other low end matchas and a suitable substitute.

Still deciding

I really like green tea lattes as a tea treat, but I'm still deciding on this one.
