About Us
Drink in the best of today
Tea is as accessible as it gets: just leaves, herbs, water and time. But Insta-perfect countertops and sleepy self-care don’t leave a lot of room to relate to the real real of your everyday.
Here’s where we go refreshingly off-script. At The Tea Spot, we exist to be what you need, today. We’re like a mood ring for your palate—deep and dark, dreamy and floral, whole-body healing. Whatever the day brings, our family of small batch teas that are micro-blended with the freshest full-leaf teas and functional herbs meet the moment.
And look, you don’t need to be a yogi to love ashwagandha. Or even know the difference between matcha and mate. Because there’s not one type of tea drinker or steeping occasion.
At The Tea Spot, our responsibly-sourced full leaf tea and custom steepware are premium and everyday (exciting, right?). So whether the moment calls for celebration or commiseration, we’ll refresh you with a little reminder that ‘you’ve got this’ any time of day.
The Tea Spot. Drink in the best of today.
Meet our founder and CEO
Maria Uspenski started The Tea Spot after experiencing the health benefits of loose leaf tea during her cancer recovery. Her background as an engineer inspired her to design all of our Steepware, focusing on making the brewing of loose leaf tea both easy and accessible. Her mission has always been to make tea an everyday luxury, so more people can benefit.
Making premium tea and Steepware, designed for you
Our family of award-winning, small batch teas are made with premium ingredients and values—for people and planet. We prioritize regenerative farming partners, micro-blend using the freshest full-leaf teas and
functional herbs, and invest in sustainable production practices.
Our custom lead-free and BPA-free Steepware makes premium loose leaf tea experiences a more accessible part of today’s real life. Whether you’re commuting, kid-dutying, hosting, working, or venting, our tea tumblers, cold brew filters, and tea steeping mugs refresh any tea drinker during any steeping occasion.
We don’t define success by profit, but rather how much we can positively affect people and planet.
Since our start in 2004, our 10% for Wellness program has enabled us to invest 10% of all profits in local, national, and global partners who focus on cancer research and recovery and other wellness initiatives.
Being a Public Benefit Corporation and Certified B Corp invites us to continually go beyond “business.” That means we’re as focused on quality products and customer service as finding ways for tea to move regenerative farming practices forward; lower waste production; and make premium, healthful ingredients accessible to more people.
