Our Organic Russian Caravan’s sophistication stems from the careful composition of four high-quality organic large leaf teas—lapsang souchong, dark oolong, Assam, & Puerh—perfectly balanced to deliver a kiss of smoke and sweetness to your palate. This tea brings new life to an ancient tradition of flavor.

Historically, teas were brought to Russia from China via large caravans of camels. They transported massive cargos of Chinese loose leaf tea over 5000 miles from Peking to Moscow: smoky black teas, large leaf oolongs, and aged puerh were mixed and consumed along the arduous journey. They called it Camel Caravan Tea, but today it is known throughout the world as Russian Caravan.

Amazingly smooth smokey black tea

I love this tea! I was surprised. I don’t usually care for smoked food( meat) and was so pleasantly surprised when a coworker shared some of this tea with me. I was intrigued at first and then fell in love. There is definitely a smoky scent but not over powering. The taste has a smooth taste, strong but not bitter. Up to you how strong you make it but I love this tea black and on a rare occasion I pour a spot of whipping cream when I make it strong. Not sure why this tea doesn’t rate higher. I definitely gave this tea 5 stars. I am ready to purchase my 3rd pound since fall. Just waiting for a sale. I may need to order this tea by subscription for a small savings since I am almost out. Please don’t stop selling this tea. It is the best!

smooth & smoky

if you like smoked meat of any kind, you'll love this tea. I used to drink it years ago, but got away from it. Then I realized that I was wasting my expensive coffee on the weekends by letting it grow cold. I don't microwave coffee, spoils the flavor. I thought let us go to tea. Keeps my caffein level up, tastes good, and is good for me. I ordered the Russian Caravan because I'm a big BBQ fan, and love that smokey flavor. I will admit, as a veteran I like my tea strong. If I can see the bottom of a full cup, it's too weak. I love this tea and will keep it in stock.

Smoky Deliciousness

I received my first order of tea today. I primarily ordered for the cherry chocolate, but decided to try this bold Russian tea as well. Not disappointed! Love it love it love it!

Heavy smokey flavor. Reminds of Islay Scotch. Almost a peat flavor. Not for everyone but really good with a strong flavored desert.
